History:

Sesame was one of the plant found in the tomb of Tutankhamum (1370-1352 B.C.). In ancient Egypt , the seeds were eaten and also pressed to yield oil, which was burnet in lamps and used to make ointments. Sesame has also been eaten and used in India and China for thousand of Years.
Sesame is principally used as a food and flavoring agent in India , but it is also taken to redress “States of deficiency”, especially those affecting the liver and kidneys. The seeds are prescribed for problems such as dizziness, tinnitus (Ringing in the ears), and blurred vision (when due to anemia). Owing to their lubricating effect within the digestive tract, the seeds are also considered a remedy for “dry” constipation. The seeds have a marked ability to stimulate the production of breast milk. Sesame seed oil benefits the skin and is used as a base for cosmetics.

Habitat:

It is a seasonal plant, native to North Africa. In India it is cultivated in the Rajasthan last many years.

Crop Status:

Sesame is cultivated in thousands of acres in Western Rajasthan. Cultivator Natural Products is the largest Organic Certified Sesame Producer Company. We are having the total area for sesame cultivation is about 500 hectares (1,250 acres). The total area is organic certified by ECOCERT International, Germany according to the rules and regulations of USDA NOP, EEC 2092/91, JAS, BIO-SWISS & NPOP. Our Sesame production is about 1000 M.T.

In Western Rajasthan number of stress condition are present. Due to these stress conditions Senna produces more secondary metabolites known as sennoside, this sennoside is best is the quality an well as in quantity.
